Kumusta! I’m Bryan — a Filipino traveler. Fan of nature, science and good food. I'm usually that silent sam on the couch. An Apple buff. I was born in the Philippines and now a citizen of Barcelona, Spain. Most of the time, I travel solo. Advocate for cheap escapades. Backpacker. Yep, Filipinos do backpacking!

I was never a big traveler, really. In fact, I didn’t take my first trip overseas until my early 20's. That's 2 countries at one go — first border crossing from Singapore to Malaysia. From there on, I was hooked on backpacking. That strong desire to travel has grown even more including the list of countries I want to visit.

I started writing about my travels way back 2007. Not for long, it went on hiatus since I moved to Spain. After seven years of establishing a career in Barcelona and a lifetime of dreaming of traveling the world, I finally decided to continue traveling and start to write again.

Did you know that Filipinos are now part of an emerging global traveling class?

Latest trend shows Pinoys as one of the top Asia-Pacific markets with the highest average number of countries visited by a Visa cardholder (ranked fourth). That's a good indicator that our generation is now changing — especially millennials — investing more in travel experiences over material things.

Finding Bryan is here to inspire you the way the beauty of the world inspired me. It’s time to take that once-in-a-lifetime trip and learn how to travel cheaper and smarter. I'm more than sure, you'll get a lifetime of stories out of it!

    I love also to travel but you put it in someones perspective. Your reviews are easy to understand for everybody, and if they read all of your posts people can see that easy, and of course easy decide where to do a vacation. The detail of level in your reviews is amassing and i strongly recommend seeking advice from you!

    I envy you Bryan. Being able to travel and enjoy the things of nature. I've always wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail from end to end. But I don't know if I'll ever be able to do that. I also want to travel to Crete and live like a native. I don't want to stay in a fancy hotel, it would be too boring and wouldn't give me the feel for the realness of the culture.

    Hi Michele. I'd say, just do it! Put it as a personal goal — start on short hikes to get the feel of it. I would love to do the Appalachian Trail myself. I've got so many places on my travel list and apart from spending with family and friends, I intend to spend my lifetime experiencing the world.

    I'm mostly a budget traveler or a traveler on a budget — depending on my destination. Either side, works. I'm sure you can do the same, Edward :)

    I have been an avid reader of your blogs on all your travels, and certainly one thing I love about your backpacking travels is the fact that they are cheap. It’s surprising how you visit this amazing places without straining your pocket, you are really do super Filipino backpacking traveler.

    I’m cheap, indeed. haha Not the big spender-type. What’s interesting about having a limited budget is that it pushes you to go back to basics, socialise with people (if in need) and experience the joy of walking. Thanks for reading along, Pat. Appreciated, really.

    I will be honest with you, I didn’t travel outside my home country until I was 24 and the first trip was horrible! I feel like traveling is one of those things that the more you do it, the more you appreciate it. I am planning more trips this year than I have ever gone on. I want to travel locally and outside the country. I have been saving up for a while. I can appreciate a fellow traveler's stories and experiences. Glad I found your blog.

I just wanted to see if you need an extra hand in the way of site upkeep/tweaking, adding emails to your newsletters from my targeted database (I have millions of them that you can use). We could even setup email campaigns for lead generation emailing at no cost to you to send out. Unique blog post material, extra traffic by getting others to start sharing your site across their own social media accounts, social media management, optimizing the site, create videos, etc also help quite a bit. I can even post ads in every capital city in the country on CraigsList for any one of their 500 categories for some immediate traffic. I have quite a few ways I can set all of this up and do this for you as we continue to tackle 2022. I don't mean to impose, I was just curious.
