I always try to find time to bond with my siblings whenever I’m back home in the Philippines. Also, that's my good old excuse to travel locally — to explore my backyard, that is.
Talk about bonding, my younger brother and I went for a nice getaway trip to Palawan last September 2017. We tried Cebu Pacific's well-advertised Clark-Coron (Busuanga) route which is quite cheap. For a 4-day trip, we only had to pay around 8700 PHP for a roundtrip ticket for 2!
It’s no hassle anymore to fly from Clark. At least that’s my perception compared to my last trip from there (more than 10 years ago). Plus, it’s less crowded. Less the hustle and bustle of the city. Clark to Busuanga is just roughly an hour trip, btw.
Arriving at the Francisco B. Reyes Airport aka Busuanga Airport (quite a small terminal), we’re awaited by a bunch of service vans going to Coron town and straight to the hotels.
The town of Coron is a 45-min ride from the terminal with a view of the green fields and mountains. Kinda nostalgic to me as I grew up in a quaint province. So raw and peaceful.
We took the local package tour bait as we’re so tired (lazy) to plan the day ahead. It was a good choice though coz we got nothing to worry about but to wait for the boat ride to bring us to the must-see islands with an exciting lunch buffet included.
Food never fails to get my attention — good food, that is. And I don’t have to convince my brother about that.
The good thing about this guided tour is that they provided all the gears and time we need to enjoy every island spot. My favorite, of course, is our trip to the Twin Lagoon and Kayangan Lake.
The island tour includes:
- Siete Pecados Marine Park
- Kayangan Lake
- Banol Beach (Lunch)
- Snorkeling at Skeleton Wreck
- CYC Beach
- Twin Lagoon
